The gotai-oji were important oji along the Kumano Kodo where religious ceremonies were carried out. Nobility often held poetry parties and performed
gagaku dancing (a kind of ancient ritualist dance performed with ancient musical instruments) at these ojis.
The first one is Fujishiro-oji in Kainan City.
The second is Kirime-oji in Minabe-town.
The third is Inabane-oji in Kamitonda-town.
The fourth is Takijiri-oji in Nakahechi-town.
The fifth is Hosshinmon-oji in Hongu-town.
